Seasons of Growth

I have found myself meditating on these lines from Enoch for awhile now. I am drawn to them, there is great wisdom involved. The statements are simple, but as they combine, and you reflect on the Father and His Authority, you recognize that these lines are lending a holy understanding. That there is peace and joy to be found in our place within creation. And if acknowledge His good works, we enjoys days in that awareness.

2.1  Contemplate  all the events  in the sky; how  the lights in the  sky do not change their  courses, how each rises and  sets in order, each at its proper time,  and they do not transgress their law.

2.2  Consider  the earth  and understand  from the work that  is done upon it, from  the beginning to the end,  that no work of God changes  as it becomes manifest.

2.3  Consider  the summer  and the winter;  how the whole earth  is full of water and the  clouds and dew and rain rest  upon it.

3.1  Contemplate  and see how  all the trees  appear withered and  all their leaves are stripped  - with the exception of the fourteen  trees, which are not stripped, which remain  with the old leaves until the new come after  two or three years.

4.1  And, again,  contemplate the  days of summer; how  at its beginning the Sun  is above it.    You  seek shelter  and shade because  of the heat of the  Sun and the earth burns  with scorching heat, and you  cannot tread upon the earth or  upon a rock, because of its heat.

5.1  Contemplate  how the trees  are covered with  green leaves and bear  fruit. And understand, in  respect of everything, and perceive  how He Who Lives Forever made all these  things for you.

5.2  And how  His works  are before Him  in each succeeding  year, and all His works  serve Him and do not change;  but as God has decreed - so everything  is done.

5.3  And consider  how the seas and  rivers together complete  their tasks.

When I consider these lines, I think of Ecclesiastes, and realize that today in our age, most of our ways are in conflict with God. As a world full of authorities, none seem to consider the way of things and our place in it. Instead we seem to force our will. By doing so, we lose sight into the progress that is set in motion all around us. The world itself follows its design, as does the heavens. But mankind fights against flow, to satisfy its need for control.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-12
1
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
9
What do workers gain from their toil?
10
I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race.
11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
12
I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.

In Consideration of the works of Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we have a new and glorious way. Not only are we witness to what goes on under the heavens, but we are open to the Holiness that is within the Kingdom. Why does this matter? Because we as believers are capable of bringing holiness into the world. This righteousness is not our own, but comes through us. We have holy purpose, not just purpose.

What is interesting too, is God knows what we are, and what is in our hearts. We are a combination of flesh and spiritual life. We are born in denial of the authority of the Spirit, and reliant on the flesh. We with Christ work to return to the Spirit while denying the flesh. But not all of mankind is on this path. And to remain with Christ comes with the sufferance of acting against our natural reliances. But the Father created this season too.

It is amazing to see our progression since the times before the flood. Some are mirror images of the impious, and some are forging a path to be a part of the new creation to come. Blessed be the will of God.
