The following is for those who deny the one baptism is the Holy Spirit baptism.
I have read the doubts and the defiance, and concerns, and the arguments, and the examples. Here is the reply I have made with a clear conscience for your salvation:
Matt. 28:18-20
18
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
All authority has been granted to him as our mediator. Old mediation required cleansing. His mediation cleanses the soul. He even says in the name of the Father, of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit baptism is on this eternal authority. Not temple authority.
Mark 16:16
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
'Who ever believes'.. belief is faith. Just like the thief on the cross. No water baptism here, which is the physical cleansing of the body, not the repent and forgiveness of the sin that binds the soul. This baptism is of unseen qualities of faith and grace; is the Holy Spirit baptism. For you cannot seek by the kingdom without first believing in the unseen qualities of God, his authority, and guidance from the Holy Spirit.
Occurrences of Christian Water Baptism
3000 at Pentecost
Acts 2:41
If all 3000 were baptized by the 12, that is 250 individuals per disciple in a day. And they were not at the temple or near a water source. They were at a house. The baptism was clearly not in water, by metaphorically so. Repent and forgiveness is the actual 'water'.
New believers in Samaria
Acts 8:12
But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
But when they believed..they were baptized. This again is evidence of faith being the Holy Spirit baptism.
Saul at his conversion
Acts 9:17,18
17
Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
18
Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized.
Saul was baptized; 'filled with the Holy Spirit'. This again, is the unseen qualities of Spirit and the fire; which is faith.
Lydia & her household
Acts 16:15
15
When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.
Lydia even said, ' if you consider me a believer in the Lord'. This she said because their baptism was of faith, not the ritual cleansing of old mediation.
Philippian jailer & his household
Acts 16:30-34
30
He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
31
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” 32
Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house.
33
At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized.
34
The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.
'What must I do to be saved?' "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved." This again glorifies the Holy Spirit baptism. It was completed with his act of repentance when he washed their wounds.
New believers in Corinth
Acts 18:8
8
Crispus, the synagogue leader, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard Paul believed and were baptized.
'Believed..and were baptized' again, the Holy Spirit baptism is of faith, that cleanses the repentant soul by the grace of the blood, and is sealed with the fire which is faith.
Gaius, Crispus, household of Stephanas
1 Cor. 1:13-16
13
Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?
14
I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,
15
so no one can say that you were baptized in my name.
16
(Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.)
17
For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
Why Paul said "Is Christ divided?", is because in Judaism leaders are the heads of mediation that have authority to cleanse the body of sin. And in Christ, believers serve the will of God. Paul in the other verses is speaking of regret and the meaninglessness of water baptism. Paul goes on to say he was sent not to baptize, but to spread the gospel, which is what brings on the repent of sin and faith in Christ's mediation. The Holy Spirit baptism by fire, which is faith.
New believers at Ephesus
Acts 19:2-5
2
and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when a you believed?”
They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
3
So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”
“John’s baptism,” they replied.
4
Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
5
On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Amen amen. John even told them to believe in the one coming after him. Belief is the fire, and the Holy Spirit is the baptism. "On hearing this..they were baptized" The truth that is our mediation, supplies the Holy Spirit to the faithful. That is, they carry the Spirit of Truth in them. Amen.
Symbolism of Christian baptism:
Forgiveness of sin
Acts 2:38
38
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Repent and have faith to receive the Holy Spirit. This is the Spirit and fire of Christ's mediation, his baptism, under his authority, which is what 'in his name' means.
Washing away of sin
Acts 22:16
16
And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’
Ananias was a devout observer of the law, he was not of the Holy Spirit baptism. Ananais told Paul to be cleansed by ritual waters because Ananais was observant of old mediation. Also, Paul had seen and heard the Lord, so he was not to receive the blessing of 'those who have not seen but believed.' Paul and all the disciples had witnessed what others were asked to place faith in. Paul had yet to receive the Holy Spirit baptism. This is critical, and explained further here:
Acts 26:15-18
15
“ ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied.
16
‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me.
17
I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them
18
to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
'so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’ This is the faith ministry of one who witnessed. His testimony brought the ministry of repentance and faith to the gentiles. No where does Jesus say Paul is to perform cleansing of the body from sin. And Crispus and Gaius were likely those who were travelling with Saul when the Lord spoke and blinded him. They too were likely Jews if not Pharisees. They too, did not receive the Holy Spirit baptism by fire.
Spiritual rebirth
Titus 3:4-8
4
But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,
5
he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
6
whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7
so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Same thing as above. Specifically, God used the old mediation to cleanse those who witnessed the power of God. They could not be received by faith, because they were witnesses. Instead, by the grace afforded, through the blood of the Holy Lamb, they receive anointing. This is how it happened for me as well. I was witness. I did not receive by faith. After witnessing, I was guided to understand the feast of unleavened bread, which I followed for forgiveness of sin. I was cleansed of sin, then anointed. Glory to God.
Salvation
1 Peter 3:21
21
and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also--not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ
Very clearly, "water symbolizes baptism that now saves you".. The water that cleansed sin from the land, is symbolic to the mediation of the living authority of our salvation. It is the repent of sin, and faith in this new mediation, is what saves us.
Dying with Christ
Romans 6:3-4
3
Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
4
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
The baptism Jesus brought was of Spirit and fire, which is faith. We carry faith forward, in sufferance, dead to the ways we lived by before. We carry the Spirit of Truth with us, even into death, so we too may be raised, and know new life as a new creation like him.
Col. 2:12
12
having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
Again, similar to what Paul said in Romans 6,
The baptism Jesus brought was of Spirit and fire, which is faith. We carry faith forward, in sufferance, dead to the ways we lived by before. We carry the Spirit of Truth with us, even into death, so we too may be raised, and know new life as a new creation like him.
Unity in the body of Christ.
Eph. 4:3-6
3
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
4
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5
one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6
one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Amen amen, one baptism. One mediation.
Being clothed with Christ.
Gal. 3:26,27
26
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith,
27
for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
'Through faith', under the one mediation, who supplies the Holy Spirit, for those who dent themselves and suffer as Christ suffered. Amen
Done with water
Acts 8:36-38; 10:47
Acts 8:36-38
The eunuch did not repent, so this water baptism only serve to cleanse the eunuch from sin under old mediation, even having been shown Christ has died to be the new mediation.
Acts 10:47
Then Peter said,
47
“Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”
But this is unnecessary because the cleansing of water is completed if the Holy Spirit Baptism has brought them to faith in their redemption. Which is recognized in:
Acts 10:43
43
All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
Peter and the disciples were cleaning with water, what had already been made clean by Spirit. A redundancy, spoken by Peter who was a witness, and was known for having little faith.
Faith is essential
Mark 16:16
17
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Whoever believes and repents seeking forgiveness will be saved. Just like the thief on the cross.
Acts 8:12
12
But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
'When they believed..they were baptized' in Jesus name, which is 'by his authority as mediation'. This is the Spirit baptism by fire. AMEN
----
I was led to exclaim what glorifies the Father by His Truth. In patience and gentleness I have supplied you with defense of our mediation. There is not water baptism, where repent and faith bring the Holy Spirit to those who are under grace. I am led by the Holy Spirit to provide the Truth through me. I gain nothing, I am only serving the Father's will in honoring the Truth.
Rejoice because this is movement in the Spirit! There is understanding to embrace! The good news of the Kingdom is a way for us to glorify the Father by showing that He is what alone is righteous. The Holy Spirit baptism is the only baptism. We have one mediator. Say his name!
