2nd Psalm to Christ

A Psalm to Christ Jesus the living Son of God

When you found me I was naked
I was without defense
The enemy circled overhead
I was walking to the cliff's edge blindly

When you found me I was filled with darkness
I was unable to raise my head up
The enemy led me to bondage
And I valued my enslavement

When you found me I did not know you
I knew your name and but it meant nothing
The enemy had claim on my soul
Death was at the door, and it was open

When you found me it was humbling
I did what I desired as this is my nature
The enemy showed me my sin as power
And I believed I was all that mattered

You broke my bonds
You lifted up my soul
You listened to my repent
You weighed my sincerity

When I found you I saw the poverty of my ways
I cried and moaned seeing through my vanities
The enemy has a world full of weapons
And I was skilled with all of them

When I found you - you showed me peace
I never knew what it meant to truly listen
The enemy raised me to react
But in you I learned to set myself aside

When I found you I started to notice light
I grew up relying on my instinct like an animal
The enemy taught my soul to rely on this flesh
In you I began to notice God in others

I died to live in you
You died so I could live
I am reborn and my milk was hope
I am growing and my meat is your authority
I am strong only as you are my strength.

I cherish you
I love you
I defend you
I would die for you
I will forever stand with you

Father Almighty, quicken the days

By the Amen
