Lord, people say I am a good person.
But I am not a good person.
I am nothing without you.
I was given a mind and body that grew to gain.
I was developed to lead in sin, and then die.
I was raised to focus on my own self interests.
And what I loved was only what honored me.
Lord, my glorified friend, you called me.
You made me aware of the poverty of my ways.
You gave me your Spirit, and by it, your wisdom.
Every day I learn how to set you before me.
And though each day I have troubles,
You are waiting for me to hand them over to you.
And though by night fall I still wander away,
You are calling me back in the morning.
Lord, your Father is my Father.
Your family is my family.
We suffer, by setting aside our desires.
Your life in us is our way home.
Keep us close, though we stray.
See our sincerity in our hearts.
Witness the acts of holiness that come at cost.
Have joy and witness your Father's joy in us.
Lord, you love us, you have freed us.
Temptation and trials only serve to show this.
We all grow tired, we all are dead to this world.
Each day we quietly hope for your return.
Gather us up Lord,
Those still in motion, and
Those who are at rest.
May all that is good be seen as of the Father
May all that is of the Father,
be known as through His Truth.
You.
Shalom.
Amen
