Hebrews 2:18
18
Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
---
The Son of God became less than the angels and equal in every way to man, so that he could be witness to the perishing form that death supplies. He was witness to how temptation, guides us by our reactions.
What could also be mentioned is that the devil, saught to convince Jesus that he could have authority over the perishing if he would only honor death's authority. Of course, in the end; Jesus the Son of God overcame the Law of sin and death and defeated the enemy, gaining the keys(authority) over death because it was the Father's will.
Isaiah 14:12-15
12
How you have fallen from heaven,
morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
13
You said in your heart,
“I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.
14
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.”
15
But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.

The enemy tried to convince the Son of God to test the Holy Spirit, to do his own will, and to gain strength from the flesh. Those examples speak much about the enemy's motivation to subvert. Our enemy does not just take, sometimes he offers great things in order to derail us from the will of God.
Which brings the reason of this understanding. We are nothing without a Shepherd. We can not decipher what is holy, without the truth living through us. What we think is a blessing can easily be a curse. What we think is favor could easily bring condemnation. What we consider comfort may be in itself damning. Unless we deny ourselves, we are open to the blinding darkness and guided thereby our reactions. That is the will of the enemy.
We can have confidence that the Holy Spirit will put words on our heart and mind when we need it and holy fruits will work through us to serve others in selfless ways. Otherwise we are only doing what suits our desires and calling it good. The extent of the corruption is so great. That most of us will have to rely on mercy at judgement. Only a chosen few over the eons will be rescued from condemnation. Everyone else must rely of the Father's mercy.
Keep your repent sincere. Forgive trespasses. Be loving. Show mercy. Be charitable. And if it is in you, thank the Father for His Son.
