1 Timothy 6:7
7
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.

Children have requirements. They are unable to provide for themselves. So they rely on others to be provided for. This starts a series of events that lead to mankind seeking what they require from the world.
The world itself has no conscience. And the body we are bound in has no consideration. Our souls do not see the wealth of their presence, nor the unseen qualities of spirit. So as a soul lives in the presence of existence, it becomes reliant on the survival instincts of its design, and the lawless environment it is surrounded by.
When a soul is called by the Lord, it is shown this poverty it is in. Not just the world, but the behaviour that is natural to it. This separation between spirit and flesh is the beginning of wisdom. A soul is shown that what is good is in fact unknown to the world, and what the world calls good, is in fact wicked. When a soul is called by the Lord, it carries this light of understanding.

John 21:15-17
15
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
16
Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”
17
The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my sheep

A good shepherd leads his flock to green pastures, and protects them from their natural enemies, and goes out of his way to collect the strays.
Spiritually, Jesus is saying this to those who would care for his believers. He is saying supply his innocent with good wisdom, he is saying lead them into upright living spiritually, and he is saying show them that he is their strength in their weakness.
When a ministry relies on worldly means, they produce worldly results. And the fruit this bears is bad fruit, as it reinforces a reliance of worldliness, instead of faith and love of the Father, and a reliance on the Kingdom. So what you get is a world filled with people who pray for worldly things, because they were saved by worldly things. And worse still, they believe they were saved in this by Christ's authority.
It is good to remember that lacking in this world is more of a blessing than having plenty. The challenge of separating the soul from the world is just that much more difficult when you can have what you desire. For those who have nothing, lose nothing by seeking to be a part of the spiritual life. In fact, they gain an understanding of eternal things, which is a wealth to them when they die. But for those who can have what they desire, it is that much more difficult to see the value of unseen spiritual quality.
What is not often recognized, is that charity can itself take the form of corrective measures in worldly ways. This does not supply anything holy, instead it is just another way to control people through supplying what their requirements demand.
Jesus fed a group of people. The next day, the people followed him a great distance. They were not looking to do anything more than to fill their bellies. This is a prime example of how ministry is mistreated by those who seek God on their own terms.
For a gathering of believers, or a ministry head, to develop and manage the welfare of those who have nothing, is not helping those who come to be closer to the Father. No. It is showing them that organized religion can work as an extension of worldliness. This makes that house nothing more than a worldly institution, and worse, they are wrongfully suggesting that it is God that feeds them.
The work of God is to believe in the one that He sent. Yes, to be charitable as an individual is good. But if you feed a belly, it just gets hungry again. Charitable acts should be done in ways that are not organized and not planned out, but are led by the Holy Spirit. Because only then are those who have nothing going to recognize the holiness of the act. The wholeness of giving is only correct in the moment.
When someone who has nothing asks you for help, it is an opportunity for you to treat them as you would have yourself be treated. You, in these acts, are showing all of heaven that your belief in the truth is honored by your acts. This is also showing the Father you love Him. Helping someone in need is unnatural for us.
If you have nothing, do not seek to become of that which binds others. Be content with having less. And for you who has nothing, there is something you can give. And what this is is greater than a meal, or clothes, or shelter. It is the fruit of the Kingdom. Those who have nothing, will give love. The fruits of love are well known: kindness, peace, patience, joy, goodness, love, gentleness, faithfulness, and self control. These fruits come through those who sincerely desire to be loving. And those who in the world have nothing, have these fruit in abundance.
To starve of food but be loving is honorable. To be full and love on your own terms is blindness. To give in the moment to carry witness to those who have nothing is honorable. To organize giving to bring reliance on the world and the flesh, is being loving on your own terms.
Yes, caring for orphans and widows and the helpless is recognized as good that can be managed. But, this does not mean that you are honoring God through His Truth. It only means you are easing the worldly suffering of those who walk in requirement. And to suggest you are doing God's work is a lie.
The work of God is to believe in the one He sent. And if you believe in the one He sent, you must do acts that honor this faith. And these acts are decisions made in the moment. For the present is where life resides with us. If you have nothing, you are rich in what cannot spoil or be taken away.
