I received a gift of understanding through the Holy Spirit which has brought light to some actions of Jesus, Peter, and Paul which used to trouble me. I give you this gift in the following manor.
1 Colossians 1:16
16
For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Paul and Peter both, understood the power of God in was that have been lost to us. Specifically one way that the power of God works is having the knowledge that Christ Jesus in his authority, has always ruled over the lesser authorities. This includes Satan.
The prince of this world, master over it, Satan answers to Christ Jesus. And before Jesus came into being, as Lord of Hosts, the Holy One, was known as the Word of God, and again, he was before all things, as all things came to be through him. Not only this, but all things were created for him, as his authority is the foundation of all other authority.
Paul mentions that he gave a man over to Satan. Peter charged Ananais and Saphirra with lying to God and they were also given over to death. These two examples are similar to when Jesus went for a fig from a tree that had no fruit, and he cursed it to never bear fruit again, and it immediately withered.
The power of God is fully of Christ's authority.
As believers, if you truly have faith, you are considered part of the body of Christ. And as part of him, you are part of the Father. And as you are within Christ, he is within you. The Spirit of Truth is the power of God by Christ's authority. Christ is the Truth.
Having said all this, there are understanding that are not complete, and remain as a mystery. Our knowledge of God is less than our predecessors. But, as each of us grows in faith, and acts on good works, our knowledge of God increases, as does our understanding. So there is a maturity, and by that maturity, our capacity to have the power of God works through us grows from service.
I do not curse people, because to do so seems unloving, and a fruit of rage or anger. Instead, I pray for my enemies, and have grown in the knowledge that asking that my enemies be blessed is my best resolution. The very idea of handing someone over to Satan, to me seems beyond my reckoning. The "do unto others as you would have done unto you", keeps me from it.
So why did our Christ and our forefathers of faith act in such a manner?
Holiness.
If I am confident in my ways, and my path is a day of the Father's righteousness, what in creation do I fear? Nothing. If I am confident in my judgement because my judgement glorifies the Father through the authority of His Son, then any use of power is celebrated as the will of God through me.
I am not there yet. I can say that I am becoming aware. I can say that what I share with you, is holy and true. I can say that each day has its own trouble, which although I become conflicted by, I end up relying on the light within me for guidance. I am not yet willing to judge, so that in having myself judged by God, I would be confident it honors the Father through the authority of His Son. I am not there yet.
It is now more important to me to grow in the light, and become more learned. I desire to see faith healings, share holy understandings, serve and act in loving ways. But I know in time I will see more of the power of God. And when that time comes, it will serve to glorify the Father through the Son.
I pray for you that each day in faith, you meditate on what good you were witness to, and what holiness came through you, amd that in time you will also find your days filled by holiness, and capable of handling more knowledge of God. AMEN
Text is good for instruction, but this is a spiritual life. It is important you begin to look with unseen vision, using your mind to isolate the unseen qualities of God in the moments they happen. It is important you begin to listen for unheard of understanding that speak to your heart about the holiness placed before you. Our knowledge of God and our understanding are both best sought through the Holy Spirit who is with us forever.
The power of God is fully of Christ's authority.

John 15:4
4
Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
