Jeremiah 17:10
10
"I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve."

Matthew 12:35
35
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.

These two verses come from the Holy One. Both verses speak of the heart and mind in terms of what comes through them. The Father in His wisdom created us in His image, having awareness and reason. The flesh is a vessel that as part of Creation, is bound by Laws that determine our existence. But it is the image of God, the spiritual aspects of our being, that define us as either apart from His will, or in service of it.
The stars, the seasons, the trees, rivers, and seas, all serve the Laws they are bound by, and do not transgress. And our flesh, as it was brought forth from creation into form, os also bound by Laws, having senses, procreating, and dying in season. The flesh does not transgress the Laws it is bound by.
Transgression is a state of separation, that itself serves to isolate what is holy and righteous from what is wicked and impious. It is the human soul, that transgresses. And the transgressions all stem from replacing awareness and reason with desire and reaction. Darkness, is when what is designed to abide by its Law, separates itself and transgresses.
A soul does not exist to sin, but a soul that does not know its Law, does not seek it to abide by it. And this explains why the Lord set forth commandments through Moses for the Hebrews. Knowing what was sin (transgression), was an attempt to bring awareness and reason to the spiritual aspect of being. For the soul that abided by the Law of sin and death, could learn to adhere to what is holy, instead of remaining in separation of it.
**Christ Jesus fulfilled the Law, by being aware during his life in the form of the flesh, and carrying reasoning that acknowledged what the Law the flesh abided by, but denying it out of a love for the image of the Creator.**

Book of Enoch 5:8
8
When wisdom is given to the chosen they will all live, and will not again do wrong, either through forgetfulness, or through pride. But those who possess wisdom will be humble.
-
It is a reliable saying: "Humble yourself to open your heart and mind to the truth"
You must grow into the understanding that your soul is separate from the Law that your flesh is bound by. Your soul is meant to follow the eternal authority, which is the foundation of the Laws your flesh and this universe is bound by. In essence, your soul is the life, and can bear spiritual fruit that the entire universe must abide by. This requires faith, and that is why Christ Jesus spread the gospel of Faith. Because a soul that serves the Authority is part of that Authority, and all it does by that authority glorifies the image of the Creator.
The Lord seeks what is of him in us. What holiness he finds, he rewards with more. What reactions and desires he finds, he curses them with more. So the separation between what is holy and what is unholy becomes a great chasm. Either a soul seeks to obey the Law of the Image, or abides by the Law of Creation. Transgression is itself the very evidence of our own judgement.
So what is peace?
It is not thinking you are right, or having knowledge of what is right, no. Peace is being a part of righteousness.
Peace, for now, is founded in faith, denying self to have righteousness come through you in acts. For those who are chosen, and for those judged as righteous, they will become a part of that righteousness. And a new heaven and a new earth will abide by the eternal authority, and everything will glorify the Father through that authority. The living Word, our Christ Jesus, is that authority forever, the Amen.
