Mary, Mother of God

Mary, the mother of Jesus is a topic that believers do not often refer to. But this letter is to explain that it was not that she was a descendant of David, not that she was chosen, nor that she was a virgin, but that she believed the Lord kept his promises. Mary, was the first to believe in Jesus as the Son of God.
-
Luke 1:45
45
Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”
-
Mary was the womb of flesh that the Father chose to manifest His authority through. She herself was a servant of His will. There is religion that prays to Mary, and believes her to be sacred beyond her service. But we know that Mary herself was simply chosen to honor the Father. Her bloodline, and her humble state as a virgin only served to fulfill prophecy about the Messiah which came through her conception. What made Mary special was she believed in that promise made to her.

Luke 1:46
46
And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord
-
When you build a house, it glorifies those who reside within it. When you create an idol, is glorifies the power it represents. Mary's soul glorified the Lord. A soul is a spark of life that is bound in this flesh. Mary's soul glorified the unseen qualities of God in it's faith that she would see the Father's promise fulfilled in her. Here is a young woman who was promised to a man and her virginity was her gift meant for him. She became pregnant, and knew this would affect her relationship with her husband to be. But she remained faithful, putting her love for God first. Her faith was tested, and she did not falter. She held onto her belief, even in her circumstance, and God fulfilled His promise.

Luke 2:34,35
Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against,
35
so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”
-
"And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”
Mary was a mother. And with all she had been witness to since the angel Gabriel came to her and up till the wise men approached her, she began having pride. This was a covet, as she started honoring herself, instead of continuing to glorify the Lord with her soul. Jesus the son of Mary, instead of Mary the believer in the Son of God.
-
Luke 2:18,19
18
and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
19
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
-
As time moves on, we see this pride and covetous take form. Mary's will was to have her son be recognized as the Chosen One, but her desire was not inline with the will of God. She attempted to influence the coming of his ministry, and then she failed Jesus by claiming publically he was mad. Because she did not remain faithful, because her soul no longer glorified the Lord, she herself became a weapon of doubt. For her belief was based on the flesh she bore, not the will of God.

John 2:3-5
3
When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
4
“Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
5
His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
-
Here is a mother at a wedding she was invited to. A public gathering. Her desire for his greatness to be recognized was tempted by an opportunity set before her. And she willed the flesh born of her to honor her request, which under the Law set out through Moses, put Jesus in a circumstance where he had to obey his mother. We can assume she knew this and was using the Law to do her own will, and she involved others, the servants of the wedding, as she desired for this to come to pass.
In this we see Jesus call his mother 'woman'. Because he knew that she was acting of desire instead of faith. It was sin, and he was bound to her sin through Law.

Mark 3:21
21
When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
-
Mary, only seeing the flesh from her womb, feared the consequences of his actions. He was placing himself at risk, and he was causing his family to be seen as troublemakers because of his actions. She did not fear the Lord, she feared the Temple leadership. So her and her family went to collect Jesus, believing they were saving him from himself, instead of believing in him as the Chosen One of God.

Mark 3:31-35
31
Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him.
32
A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”
33
“Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.
34
Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!
35
Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
-
Mary was human. Mary was the mother of the Son of God. Mary loved her son. But Mary in her motherly ways, even after all she was witness to, feared man, because she lacked faith in God's will.
-
1 Peter 4:8
8
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
-
Be sure, that everything not done in faith is sin. But we know that as sinful creatures, our faith leads us to deny ourselves, so that the qualities of love can come through us. Mary loved her son, we can assume that all that took place had purpose. But as believers in the Authority of Christ Jesus, it is our faith that defines our service. We are the body of Christ, our function relies on faith in our position in him. And as he is in us, we are dead to the Law, as he is the life within us, and he fulfilled the Law. This is how we will overcome death, because he is the life in us.

This letter serves to bring an understanding of how faith is perfect and holy. Faith is itself a fruit of the holy conscience of God. We are bound by our flesh, and we are not capable of overcoming it. But, we are capable of being holy, by means of denying ourselves in the moments set before us. As holiness is founded in love, and faith is a product of that love. Some of us have faith in great amounts, and are able to persevere for terms of our life. But some of us have little faith, and our otherwise struggling with our desires. But the amount of faith we have is not what matters, what matters is that we return to that faith and live for it. Mary was the first to believe in Jesus as the Son of God. That makes her stand out forever. But each of us has that capacity too. No matter our circumstances, if we love the Father first in all things, over all our relationships, we are capable of doing His will. Belief is a key, Christ Jesus is the door.
