Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Guidance includes course correction. I laugh when I say this. Because truly, if we knew the way, we would not have to be shown. Yet, for most of us, we only look for guidance when we are lost or have fallen in error.
In our daily lives, we have tasks and responsibilities that are of our worldly lives. Everything from jobs to relationships, we tend to consider these things as our own to manifest. But this too, is what Jesus wants us to understand; when he is the life in us, we are a part of him. So when we rely on our knowledge and experiences, we are not listening to what guidance is available. Yes, our worldly skills and knowledge apply to our worldly tasks, but they are best given over to guidance that is holy and complete.
What is meant by this is simple. When we put God first, we are showing He is what matters in all we do. How do we do this? By giving our days over to Him. We thank Him for our day, and all that is in it, and all whom are in it. Then we listen. And the Holy Spirit councils us, and the Kingdom which is the Holy Conscience, supplies us the Father's righteousness. Our actions are then a working of His will, and all because we obeyed what His Son set down as a commandment: Love the Father with our heart, soul and mind.
The listening is the part where most of us have to learn to quiet ourselves. Our egos, our vanities, our emotions; they all have a strong hold on our flesh and they are what gives us our natural instincts which our souls grew in reliance on. But we are in Christ, dead to the flesh, and reborn in the spirit. We have to learn to seek first the holiness, and act on it in confidence. This is how we overcome the fears that drive us to react in our flesh. Listening to what the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of Truth guides us to do or say.
To take this one step further, relying on what we learned in the past is also a path to error. Holiness, life itself, is in the present moment. All that we require is to rely upon what we believe is there for us, and it will be given. And always what is given is full, complete, and reliable.
We as the body of Christ are loved, deeply loved. Although things change in the world around us, in our relationships, and even in our own bodies; we should get into the habit of thanking the Father for the good and the bad, and also get in the habit of listening for the guidance that is holy and true.
Love, as you are loved.
