About weakness

---

2 Corinthians 12:7-9 (Ammended)
I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me...Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

---
Too often we consider our struggle instead of considering the grace we are shown. Too often we consider what is in front of us, rather than what we have been saved from.

Today, I was on my way to work in traffic. And a realization came over me. I was shown that being conscious of my acts came from understanding gained in the wisdom behind repenting. And I was then also aware; that my tolerance of others who still remain unaware of themselves, is the same love that Christ Jesus had for us when he did the Father's will.

So yes, the love we carry for others, those who are still of the world, is the Father's will. We find purpose; is believing in the actions Christ took. Serving those who, could only witness the holiness that came through him. And that Spirit of Holiness can, and does bear fruits through those whom are aware of themselves. They have put aside their desires to allow this holiness to work through them.

---

John 16:7
7
But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

---

Weakness is the reminder we have of what we were. It is what our flesh desires and also the expectations this world has of us. Weakness that in our dying of the world and repent of our desires, we become accutely aware of in others. We see in others what we have overcome with grace. Weakness, in this context is a reminder of the love that is our salvation. See?

---

2 Corinthians 12:9 (Ammended)
9
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

---

So in this context, 'boast' means Paul celebrates his weaknesses because they are a reminder of the love that is the Father's will. His awareness that grace has given him, is a love founded on truth.

Perfect. Holy.

---

2 Corinthians 12:10
10
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

---

His use of 'for Christ's sake', means the Son of God's obedience to the will of the Father; to bring (Paul and us all) salvation, cost Jesus his life. So to honor that effort, Paul carries that rememberance forward.

So what does this say? When we are in weakness, or, are insulted by others witnessing us denying ourselves, or we are in hardship because we refuse to subject ourselves to what the world expects of us, or we face persecution for remaining forgiving, and loving, in a situation that; would otherwise involve judgement and retribution. We celebrate those moments as a reminder of the truth; the love of God has brought upon us.

None are perfect, but the holiness that comes through us in our state of grace; is.

Amen.
