Habakkuk: To observe and report

Habakkuk 2:1
1
I will stand at my watch, and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.

---

Habakkuk 2:4
4
“See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.

---

I am a guard. I guard things.
I observe, and I report.

Habakkuk, a prophet of the Lord God, did the same. He observed and he reported. He saw what eyes could not, and heard what ears could not. Instead; his faithfulness made him open to prophetic word. Righteousness came through him, holiness in the form of a spiritual gift. Habakkuk observed for the Lord, and then reported his complaints. He stood watch, right where the enemy would attack, and where also a defense would primarily take place; the ramparts. Habakkuk stood watch, seeing what could not be seen. He saw what the enemy was doing, and how those he loved were being effected. His heart heard what righteousness spoke unto him, and this was what was reported, prophecy.

The enemy places in front of the flesh what the flesh desires. In doing so, the enemy can through this deception, guide the flesh in the darkness. Darkness being, spiritually unaware. For if you survive as a creature of instinct, you deny the soul that is the life within you, and our wholly reliant on the flesh, which is how death collects it harvest. The enemy uses existence to honor itself and it's craftiness. Habakkuk saw this, reported it, and the Lord answered. This is how the process of faith brings the holiness of prophetic word to life. Best explained:

---

Isaiah 42:9
9
See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”

---

"..before they spring into being, I announce them to you."

This bring me to the point of this lesson. Habakkuk paid attention, not to what the flesh spoke, or what his own flesh heard. No. Habakkuk listened in faithfulness for the Lord to answer what he was witness to. Habakkuk did not report his reactions to what was in front of him, instead he sought answers by describing what he observed through faith. Habakkuk observed and reported in a way that showed righteousness was through the Father alone. The unseen qualities of God, is how we seek the unseen answers.

Christ Jesus brought us the good news of the Kingdom. We seek first by the kingdom, as it shows that righteousness is through the Father alone. It is by this unseen quality that faith works, faith in itself is a fruit of this Holy Spirit. The kingdom of God is where truth is eternally in authority. And that kingdom is where gifts like prophetic word are powered.

Denying our selves is denying our desires: our need to react to our senses, and our emotions. The lesson of observation and reporting unseen qualities is very much a lesson in wisdom. We deny self in order to observe through something greater tham ourselves: through the Spirit of Truth. And when we report what we have witnessed in the unseen qualities of Truth, we are truly showing righteousness is of the Father alone.

Amen.
