The Gospel of Faith and Love

All of Paul's letters to the different communities of the faithful; all of these letters were to specific groups facing specific problems. His letters were always meant for a specific group and had directions for them. As Christians, what we must draw from these letters, is not the specifics as much as the fundementals. What should be the foremost consideration is the Holy Spirit is our council, as, it was Paul's council. He was not taught to say what he did. Nor, was Paul's jewish lineage and upbringing the foundation of his instruction and fathering of these groups.

As Christians, what we can derive from these letters is the faith gospel. The gospel of Jesus Christ that speaks of the Holy Spirit and the workings of the kingdom of heaven.

Galatians 3:7-8
7
Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham.
8
Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.”

All nations outside the temple wall walk in their transgressions, spiritually uncircumsized. Righteousness to everyone outside of the temple walls is recognized as of the Father alone.

The gospel of the Christ is the faith gospel. No amount of knowledge can compare to the least amount of faith. Faithful acts are holy, greater than the person they come through, just like love. And faith is nothing if not based in love. Love of the Father or love of one another.

But love is selfless, and therefore faithful acts based in love are also selfless. True acts of faith do not attempt to harness belief to do man's will, nor are acts of faith based on worldliness or desire. No, acts of faithfulness are of God, through one whom has put themselves aside, denying their will, all in love of another or the Father through His Truth. I say it that way because:

John 14:6
6
Jesus replied, "I am the way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Paul ministered the gospel of faith. The power of faith based in love is greater than any man, not just those outside the temple walls. Faithfulness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit of God. And God is love, and is the Rock upon which the Truth is built.

Amen
