An individual asked a question to an audience of Christians. The answers were almost in half, one side saying yes, the other side saying no. The question was itself poorly worded, tricking believers into choosing a side. It was divisive, and it prompted me to write this, so clarification could be given.
So firstly, I had to pray and seek guidance from the Holy Spirit to bring you this understanding, this letter acts on behalf of God's purpose.

The trick question was:
Should Christians follow the Law of Moses? (The ten commandments)
1225 people voted.
44% said yes
49% said no
7% said I don't know

The Law and Prophets were fulfilled in Christ. Meaning, righteousness came in the form of salvation. That righteousness, summarized the Law with two commandments:
1. Love the Father: heart, mind, and soul
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
---
Matthew 22:37-40
37
Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38
This is the first and greatest commandment.
39
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40
All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

So to answer the question: "Should Christians follow the Law of Moses?" We must first recognize it is not a question of following the Law. The Law was fulfilled. What does that mean? The Law of sin, the ten commandments, were set out so that a path to righteousness could be followed by the Hebrews. The outcome was to make them a righteous people, but that meant that they would have to overcome sin, and not once break the commandments. Because if one commandment was broken, judgement would find them guilty of breaking the Law in full.
This is why none made it into the Father's presence. The repentant cleansing that was ministered by John the Baptist, was the Spirit of Elijah making a straight path, so that righteousness could come to the people. John the Baptist lived a life of self denial, not allowing his flesh comforts. His ministry, was prophesied, as Elijah was to return and in his acts, bring God's people into reconciliation. This too was fulfilled, as he was the one whom cleansed the flesh that became the temple of the Holy Spirit. Righteousness came upon that flesh directly from the presence of the Father. This form of the Son of Man, whom became the Son of God, maintained the power of God, by doing the will of God, here on earth till the point of rest.
It was the Holy One of God, the eternal authority, which was placed in a virgin, and born to bring God's people reconciliation to Him, and then salvation to the rest of mankind. As then the Son of God, he took upon himself the cup of wrath set aside for mankind's transgressions. And he accomplished, "fulfilled" what had been prophesied. When his worldly existence ended, the master of the world judged him, but the righteousness of the Father's will was still upon him. He carried the Holy Spirit upon him, into judgement, and overcame death. He became the first of a new creation.
Death is a bondage of a soul. The expiration of this flesh is not death, spiritually it is considered rest. Death is the bondage of a soul, the cost it created while it was gifted the flesh, has to be paid for. Why? Because the Kingdom is exploited by the enemy. The enemy has mankind believe the flesh is what manifests the holiness of Love and the fruits.
So deceived, and blind to the truth of the eternal authority, mankind moves forward day to day, in a self righteous fashion; celebrating themselves instead of recognizing the Father is what is alone righteous. So in death, the enemy harvests souls who have no defense. This, because it is clear they did not seek the Kingdom of God to do the Father's will.
So the key understanding of the fulfillment of Law, is that righteousness is of the Father alone. When Christ Jesus ascended and left us the Holy Spirit, it was so we too could put ourselves aside and have holiness work through us. This is where the answer comes: In order for us to do the Father's will, we have to have the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, guiding us. Why? So that what we bring through us from the Kingdom upon us, is complete; full, as it is guided by the eternal authority, through the Holy Spirit. And this can only happen under circumstances of faith in the Law being fulfilled by the Christ. He summarized how we are to be, in order to, by grace and in denial of ourselves, carry forward doing the Father's will:
That righteousness, summarized the Law with two commandments:
1. Love the Father: heart, mind, and soul
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
Without obedience to these summations, we are not being guided by the Holy Spirit to have the holiness of the kingdom work through us. Instead, we are supplementing the master of this world and acting in a manner that is self righteous. Love is selfless, solely.
Love the Father with your heart by putting Him first. Put Him first by having your relationship with Him first above all other relationships.
Love the Father with your mind by seeking out the Kingdom in faith that His Holy Spirit can guide you to do His will.
Love the Father will your soul by denying yourself, in order to carry forward serving selflessly, as His gift to us was the selfless sacrifice of His only begotten Son.
Love your neighbor as yourself, by serving each other as the hands and feet of the Father's will. And God is love.
So in summary, the Law of Moses is fulfilled in those who in the confidence of grace, deny themselves, so that holiness, (Love and it's fruits), can come through their act to do the will of the Father. Thereby showing Him to be what alone is righteous.
On earth, as it is in heaven.
Blessed be.
