Nations and Leaders

---

Hebrews 13:17
17
Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

---

The leaders spoken of are what was the spiritual leadership in the gatherings if believers who had left the mediation of Moses for the greater mediation offered by the Messiah. This quote is misused to supply worldly leadership your confidence. That is a false teaching.

---

Hebrews 13:5,6
5
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,

“Never will I leave you;

never will I forsake you.”

6
So we say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.

What can mere mortals do to me?”

---

The nations and their economies serve money, because they do not commit to faith. And to deepen this understanding, the nations and their economies and weapons of destruction, and liberties and freedoms; all give meaning to death and deny the living God and His authority.

There is no enemy that you cannot turn the other cheek to show you have forgiveness in your heart. Yet, we feel we need to defend our possessions, our way of life, all our relationships. This our nation's do because they do not recognize  the covenant we have with Christ. So how difficult is it to remain faithful, when our nations follow another master!

---

Luke 16:13
13
"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."

---

We have had generations that have committed to wars. Wars, where faith was challenged by the threat of loss and death. All nations, relied upon their knowledge of good and evil, instead of having faith in what the Holy Spirit set upon their hearts. They defended their economies, their worldly freedoms, and their personal relationships, because the believed in their knowledge of good and evil, instead of listening to what the Kingdom supplied. To this day, nations claim righteousness. In the name of Jesus, the shame his sacrifice, by remaining faithful to their desires.

No nations love their enemies. No nations treat one another as they would have themselves be treated. No nations turn the other cheek. No nations fear God above fear of their enemies. No nations are confident in salvation. All nations are rebellious. All nations worship money. All nations fear death instead of God.

So what can you do, believer. Be awake. Do not conform to the ways of the world. Remain true.
If you fear persecution, how can Christ defend you? If you fear a mortal death, have can you earn eternal life? If you see worldliness as favor, what does heaven hold in wait for you?

---

Hebrews 12:25
25
See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?

---

The Holy Spirit is upon the conscience of the living who believe. But the kingdom of heaven is upon all the living. Those who take from the kingdom to suit their own will, use what is holy to support their wickedness. The holiness of the Kingdom is only pure through the Spirit of Truth which guides the faithful. As the faithful, we have to stand up for what is holy, and be that beacon on the hill. It is like being a sheep among wolves. It is our purpose among the dying to show them how to live.

Don't celebrate what denies God. Fear God, be humble in His presence. Pray continually, build a sincerity, and a reliance on the kingdom through the Holy Spirit. Keep Christ in you, by having confidence in the grace afforded you by his blood. There is nothing in this world worthy of your eternal soul.
