Ezekiel 2:7
"And thou shalt speak My words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear; for they are most rebellious."
Ezekiel 2:8
"And thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee: be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house; open thy mouth, and eat that which I give thee.'"

The faithful of Christ Jesus are surrounded by a world which does not recognize wisdom. A believer sets themselves aside, so that what is Holy from the Spirit of God can come through them. This holiness is not natural. And the Lord only opens up the ears of those He seeks to know Him. Everyone else who hears it will either take offense to it, or will accept it but in time set it aside and return to their old ways.

John 6:35
Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty

We as believers, take into ourselves what the Holy Spirit places upon our hearts and minds. Having humbly set ourselves aside, we then share that holiness. This holiness takes many forms. It could be mercy or compassion. It could be love, or kindness. It could be peacefulness or patience. It could bring joy, or it could be goodness. It could come in the form of self control, or faithfulness. It could be a gentleness that soothes those who are witness to it. Holiness is not just prophetic word or discernment. Holiness is everything that carries an unseen quality of God's greatness.

Ezekiel 2:6
"And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though defiers and despisers be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions; be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house."
---
What Ezekiel was told to eat, was of this holiness. The Bread of Life, is that which is holy and of God. It is spiritual and of an unseen quality. The Holy Spirit is the power of God, and Ezekiel was told to take in this power which was given to him. He was told to have confidence in it, and fearlessly act on it. This too is what Jesus calls us to do.

Luke 6:46-49
46
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?
47
As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like.
48
They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
49
But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

What we are given by the Holy Spirit, what we take in, is meant to be shared. If what we are shown increases our faith, we are meant to act on it. If what we are given, remains in us, but we do not act on it for others to witness, what use is it? We are meant to be beacons of light. Our acts are meant to show others there is a light in us that we bring forward when deny ourselves. It is not of us, but instead comes through us in service of something greater than ourselves. Ezekiel was given something, and was instructed to be that beacon.
The same is expected of the faithful. We are aware that what is holy requires us to deny ourselves so that holiness can come through us. If we do not act on it, our faith in dead. But, when we do act on what we have taken it, what faith we showed is increased. And this increase is then supplied more. Our foundation become more steady, and our confidence bears more holy fruit.
Do not allow the reactions of others to strip you of what faith you have. What bread you are supplied, accept and serve others with the strength you gained from it. We are vessels that can be filled and overflow with the power of God. Or, we can remain empty, and be like those who are empty.
Take into yourself what you are given. Allow it to come through you, so others can witness it.
Love. Serve. Love.
