He is

---

2 Peter 3:11-12

11
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives

12
as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

---

This passage of Peter’s letter seem to echo in my mind. Every once and awhile I return to it.

The part that sticks in my mind is: and speed its coming.

This firstly should be understood as spiritual in context. Peter is not suggesting we do anything other than live to have holiness come through us, which resonates of godliness. We are not godly nor holy, but because of Christ Jesus bringing about grace by his blood, we can set ourselves aside and have eternal power work through us.

To speed the return of Christ is to complete the Father’s will. Which is that all may know the Truth of the Son of God, and have the opportunity to repent of themselves.

Matthew 24:36

36
"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

---

The reason that no one knows, is because God’s will is what created the Word, and then the heavens and the earth. His will is beyond understanding, and that is why faith is so important. Faith itself is holy and eternal, of the Spirit of Truth. No one knows, because the will of God is we seek Him by the faithfulness He recognizes as His own.

So how can we speed the end? By conquering the relevance of death with faith in the everlasting. Like recognizing the blinding wall of our physical senses as what leads us to death. Like recognizing the knowledge of self becomes the prosecution's evidence against us. Like recognizing the unseen quality of our soul is the image of God within us.

Our very birth is an entrance into a conflict. Our cells are constantly dying, and our body must continue to be sustained in order to survive. Our physical bondage is the fuel of our desire to survive. We must unlearn this, and realize that:

Matthew 4:4

4
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

---

Our conscience is like a kingdom provided for us. And by that kingdom, holiness can be sought out in faith. That holiness houses the will of God in the moment we are in. And it is in the present moment that our soul resides. We must not rely on the flesh, but instead seek by faith.

Hebrews 11:1-2

1

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

2

This is what the ancients were commended for.

---

So how do we supply this heavenly wisdom to mankind? By acting on faith. In a world of envy, we are humble. In a world of greed, we are charitable. In a world of selfishness, we serve selflessly. In a world of emotional and logical reactions, we act of faith. We offer what can not be found without knowing where to find it. We show mankind that what is perfect comes from God, and only through His Authority.

To speed the end, is to bring others to faith and repent. To believe and be shown the light. And you can only show by doing.

In our acts we show mankind that we believe, and therefore; He is.
