Romans 13:5-7
5
Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
6
6
This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing.
7
Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

We live in a time when civil authority gives way to social demands. From same sex marriages to abortion to euthanasia. For Christians, these moral concepts seem to act against God, but what is more correct to say is; these concepts of social reform do not recognize the will of God, as, they are not of His Truth. But, yes; the authorities of man are certainly of God. Authorities are all designed to identify the development of mankind to comprehend the holy kingdom upon them.

1 Peter 2:11-12, 15
11
Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.
12
Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
15
For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.
---
The authorities of man, are not of the body of truth. But, they are instead bases on the knowledge they have of good and evil. The trouble with that is, what they see as good, is what benefits the grouped desire, and, what they see as evil, is what is opposed to the grouped desire. The body of truth, acts in accordance with the kingdom and the council of the Holy Spirit. For the body of truth, faith is what brings perfect knowledge, not knowledge based on desire. See?

John 6:29
29
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

The kingdom is the eternal conscience. By it, come the holy fruits which are spiritual, not flesh based. But for those who rely still on the flesh, they consider the fruits of holiness as from them, somehow, of their character or reactions. This is part of their development. Few will actually find the Truth, which is the righteousness of the Holy Spirit and it's fruit by the kingdom is of the Father alone. So they grow blindly honoring themselves as beings of righteous choice and behavior. Which is also God's plan, but not His will.
We are, as part of the body of Truth, inevitably going to be seen as what is evil. For the very same reason, the children of the world and their authorities will consider themselves good. We will by faith, supply what eternally is good, and it will come to pass, that we will be forced to witness to what we believe. And it seems this time is upon us now.
So what do we do?
We allow holiness to act through us, and thank the Father for His Son. We allow judgement to fall upon us for serving the Father's will.
So what don't we do?
We do not fight evil with evil. We do not condemn the human authorities, we do not fall into our own sense of morality. No morality is without duality. Morality is solely based off a group or individuals knowledge of good and evil. That is not having faith in the truth, instead, that is believing in our perceptions.

Luke 6:35
35
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

God is in all things. Even the enemy, although the enemy is blind to it or denies it. So we live first, then seek by the kingdom believing that what is holy is of God, and supplied through us by the Spirit of Truth from the kingdom upon us. We are few amongst many. We shine of the brilliance of eternal authority. But that does not make us righteous, and that is the downfall of many false doctrines. Righteousness comes through the faithful who recognize God is what is righteous alone.
Amen
