John 9:1-5
1
As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2
His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.
4
As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.
5
While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
---
Night has come. The works of the light are no longer seen. They will not return until Christ returns to claim his kingdom. But, until then, we know that the works of God are to believe in His son. Amen. So during the night, we keep our lanterns lit, our faith lit. We pray, and we share understanding as peacemakers.
" but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him."
If we can help the one in front of us, we should. If we can be merciful we should. If we can be forgiving, we should. But all because we know these acts are from our belief in the light that is in us, which is the life that we carry forward. But to just pray to satisfy their needs and requirements is not enough. We should be saying to them, this may be happening so that the works of God might be displayed in you.
A woman says, 'pray for me and my husband to find work because our rent is coming due and we cannot pay it.' So I pray for them, because we are told to, and I jave no means to help. I should also say to the woman, 'I will pray for you. But this may be happening so that the works of God might be displayed in you.
A pastor says, "Please pray that the orphans I care for can be fed". These helpless children are worthy of prayer. But this may be happening so that the works of God might be displayed in them.

Luke 16:20, 21,25
20
At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores
21
and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

25
“But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.

Mark 12:43,44
43
Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.
44
They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

1 Timothy 2:1
1
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—
---
Pray then for those who need it, or request it. Pray because you love them, and believe in Christ as the mediator and authority of God. But prayer for one another should be accompanied with sincerity. If you love the person you are praying for, remind them of the Truth; that this is happening to them so that the works of God might be displayed through them.
Love the Father, believe in His son, love one another.
