Matthew 19:8-12
8
Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.
9
I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
10
The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”
11
Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.
12
For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
---
Procreation. Our sexual organs are there to procreate. The stimulus is nervous, and hormones supply the drive. A man and a woman have the ability to unify as one, and procreate, which means create life through copulation, which means the act of sex.
A eunuch is a man who has no genitalia. So the drive to procreate is no longer with them. I personally live like a eunuch as best I can, although I still struggle with passion and my drive to procreate. I consider God more important than procreation, as what I work for is eternal. I was saved when I was single, so single I plan to remain.

1 Corinthians 7:8,9
8
Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do.
9
But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
---
Marriage is spiritual. Even though the physical bond of marriage is copulation, the spiritual bond is what identifies the marriage to God. No ceremony or ritual beyond copulation is recognized by God. It is religion and government that suggest otherwise. Marriage is between a man and a woman who have sex.
After Christ came, things changed. We are on the final stretch spiritually speaking. We know who God is to us, we know what sin is to us, and now we know what the truth is. Mankind has developed far enough along, that a man or a woman can dedicate their existence to God in full faith.

1 Corinthians 7:17-20
17
Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches. 18
Was a man already circumcised when he was called? He should not become uncircumcised. Was a man uncircumcised when he was called? He should not be circumcised.
19
Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commands is what counts.
20
Each person should remain in the situation they were in when God called them.
---
Paul told all his churches the same thing, one you have heard the truth, remain in the situation that you are in. This advice was given as a mercy to us, not as a commandment. But the reason it is a mercy is because what is truly important is dedication of belief, by having a clear conscience. And I add to this, by saying no relationship should stand between you and God, once you have been shown the truth.
Yes, believers and non believers can marry. But to what end? I say this because if you are a believer, you know that you are to focus on becoming more godly, as you have died from what was worldly about you.

1 Corinthians 7:32-35
32
I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s affairs—how he can please the Lord.
33
But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world—how he can please his wife—
34
and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord’s affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband.
35
I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.
---
When you have been shown the truth, do not return to a lie. Each man and woman according to the situation they were in when God called them, should remain in that situation.
Like Paul said, it is all about what you devote yourself to. And as a believer who has been called by God, the conscience of godliness, the kingdom, is what you should be devoted to in your day. The kingdom becomes our conscience, therefore our acts are holy acts. The mind of Christ, the Holy Spirit, is the Christ in us. The Holy Spirit has perfect understanding of the kingdom, and through us bears its fruit, and uses its gifts. All we need to do as souls, is deny ourselves so that this devotion can have this holiness work through us.
Like Paul said, time is short. We no longer are in a situation where we need to procreate to sustain mankind. We are in a time where salvation is at hand. We are in a time where we can confidently die knowing we will have eternal life because of the truth we carry forward. Why burden ourselves with needless relationships that alter our devotion to God's truth.
"Each person should remain in the situation they were in when God called them."
