Doing God's work

Leadership as a Christian is a journey of faith and acts that glorify the Father by the authority of the son. It has always been this way. To be in His presence is our destination, leaders must be able to do His will, without being distracted by the desires and requirements of those seeking more.

---

Colossians 3:23-25
23
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,
24
since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
25
Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.

---

Loving acts of mercy and compassion are for all to do; not just believers of Christ. If you see a hungry orphan, or a poor widow, it is a mercy for you to treat them as you would have yourself be treated. If you come across your enemy, or an unbeliever, it is a mercy for you to treat them as you would have yourself be treated. If you see a friend or a loved one in suffering, it is a mercy for you to treat them as you would have yourself be treated. Yes.

John 6:
26
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.
27
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”
28
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

---

Jesus did not focus on catering to the worldly desires and requirements of those who followed him. Jesus did the Father's will. All things that came through Jesus; glorified the Father through His authority. His leadership was one of service to God, not service to Jews, nor service to the rest of mankind. We are not called to change the world, but to instead, serve the will of God. Yes.

---

John 6:32-36
32
Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.
33
For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34
“Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”
35
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

---

The unseen qualities of God. This is what the true bread of life is. It is the understanding that salvation is greater than the needs of the body and faith is greater than the requirement of desires. The earthly body will die, yes. But the soul is what can be saved. Yes.

Leadership in Christ, is not allowing the desires and requirements of followers or seekers to overcome our service to their souls. You say you need beds, clothes, food, bibles and a church for those who lack them. And you say these things must be fulfilled in Jesus name. No. Give half of what you have, give the shoes and shirt from your body. Yes. But do not supply worldly things to the people you wish to serve with unseen qualities. By doing so, you are allowing weeds to grow strong in your crop. Yes.

Missions that improve living standards, education, technology, and even supply holy scripture; all fail the work of God. “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

Nothing has changed since Christ fled across the lake from those who would have made him a king. He was not sent among us to be given nations. No. That is what the enemy offered him if he would only glorify the master of this world. So, when we commit our service to supplying worldly measures to those who are in need, even if we say we do these things by the authority of Christ, we are in ERROR. Yes.

---

James 1:21,22
21
Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

22
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

---

“The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

---

John 3:16
16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son. That whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

---

This understanding should shake your very core. How deeply the enemy has altered the truth to serve himself. Yes.

Our hope is in God. Our faith is of God. And our love is for God. We do not supply hope by serving the needs and requirements of the body. We do not put faith in worldly means as leaders of service. We do not use love to satisfy our own desires to serve the will of the world. We bring the truth to souls that seek salvation and would place faith in that authority.

---

James 1:27
27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

---

Missions and ministry are to do God's work.“The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” Yes. The only religion that the Father recognizes is one that cares for those who cannot care for themselves. But this does not make the house holy, nor is what it provides holy. It is merciful and compassionate acts that are of God, and therefore, righteous. These acts are secondary to doing God's work.

“The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

Judgement of souls will make account of merciful and loving acts, and will count for much against the sins a soul is charged with. But, the salvation of a soul, that carries the Spirit of Truth with it, is also of the body of Truth, and will not know the consequences of judgement. Yes. This is why the work of God must not be confused with the workings of man.

In summary, what matters is sharing the understanding of the truth: the salvation of souls. Bringing one soul into repentance and belief is what makes all of heaven celebrate. Yes. We can only spread seeds, and allow them to grow how they wilĺ. Yes. Do not become a king for the world, serve the Father by doing His work: “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

Faithful acts, not worldly change.

*Almighty God, let this understanding turn those who would believe in the authority of Christ, serve your good works with true leadership. Let them see the difference between worldly bondage and holy freedom. AMEN.
